Weekly Pool Maintenance
Pool maintenance is not a task to be taken lightly. Pool companies have dedicated teams of experts who keep pools clean and safe year-round, but many pool owners still find themselves picking up the slack to ensure their home’s water feature stays pristine during peak season. Sometimes it can be tough to ensure your pool is in the best condition, especially if you have a large number of people using it multiple times daily. But don’t fret, we have created a cheat sheet to help you stay on top of your pool maintenance.
Your Pool Filters
Clean the filters regularly and replace them when necessary. Sea Breeze Pools recommends checking all of your filter baskets, grids, and cartridge-type cartridges once a month during the summer months. Replace any that look worn out or have debris caught in it. Be sure to clean these components with a brush before replacing them for better results!
Sea Breeze also suggests you vacuum any areas where sand or dirt may collect such as steps, pool decks, and ladders every week. When vacuuming use an attachment to remove leaves from along walls too! This will help keep more chlorine available at the water level so you aren’t adding chemicals constantly while keeping workload light by only doing this one job per week! Chlorine Use
Check your chlorine levels daily with a pool tester. Sea Breeze Pools suggests you maintain your recommended free chlorine level of between 3-5 ppm and pH between the range of pH: 7.2-7.8. You should also be maintaining more than 500 per million (PPM) calcium hardness to avoid scale buildup on surfaces, which can lead to having cloudy water or unsightly stains on steps or tiles around the pool! When to Shock Your Pool
Sea Breeze Pools recommends waiting 24 hours before shocking your pool to allow for any chlorine or other chemicals to dissipate and then adjust accordingly with Sea Breeze Pool Shock. Pool Wall Up-keep
Clean the walls every few weeks. Sea Breeze suggests using a pool brush that reaches most of the surface area on all sides. Make Sure Your Vacuum is Working Properly
Vacuum the bottom regularly as well. Sea breeze describes vacuuming as “the easiest way” because it doesn’t require much effort, but you will have cloudy water in no time without regular maintenance!
We offer weekly maintenance to ensure that your pool stays in tip-top shape all year long. Sea Breeze Pools’ weekly maintenance includes testing and balancing water chemistry, vacuuming debris, empty pump baskets, empty skimmers, brushing walls and steps removing any algae off of the surface, filter cleaning, netting surface. If there is anything else we can do for you please don’t hesitate to ask!
